What it guarantees
A server becomes a readable replica when it answers a read away from the home. The home announces a write before it commits, so a replica can wait briefly when it is behind and answer locally the rest of the time.
- Form a readable replica near read traffic without being asked
- Report heartbeat and commit freshness per copy
- Hold a stale read until the home confirms the current state
